Kara entered into the food and beverage industry in 2001 through a course at the Granger Bay Hotel School and worked part time at the famous Buddha Bar in Green Point as a waitress.

In 2002 she furthered her waitressing career at Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant in Kloof street, as well as working as a representative for Evolutionary Business Solutions.

The Royal Oak, a well known Pub in Table View, was where she began to work as Bartender in 2004 and was eventually invited to join the management team.

Two years later Kara moved her management skills to Junction Café in Greenpoint and also started her employment with Bartenders Workshop as a part time Bartender. Due to the change of ownership Kara was forced to move to the well known Oxford Arms in Durbanville.

Continuing as a part time employee at the Bartenders Workshop Kara decided to join the Durban franchise as an events manager.

Kara loves the interaction that the industry provides and thrives on satisfying the clients every need, her experience not only from behind the bar but as well as on the floor is an advantage to the Bartenders Workshop team.
