Marius Basson

Marius Basson graduated from the prestigious Granger Bay Hotel School, Cape Town, in 2000. Marius excelled and was selected as a top student to complete the experiential part of his training in London and New York.

Marius completed the Trainee General Manager Course with the Red Carnation Hotel Group in London giving him a broad overview of experience in all the relevant operational departments of a number of hotels including the Chesterfield Mayfair in Mayfair London.

Marius gained valuable function and banqueting experience as well as cocktail bartending knowledge during his time at the Marriott hotel group in New York in 2000.

Having graduated Marius held senior management positions in Cape Town, South Africa. These include Bar Manager at the Holiday Inn Waterfront, F&B manager for the Kelsey's group (Cullinan Hotel), Senior Front of House manager at the world renowned Five Flies restaurant and lastly Restaurant Manager of the 5 Star Atlantic at the Table Bay Hotel.

Marius is currently the Events Director for Bartenders Workshop having joined the company.
